After killing his 5-year-old son in Farrukhabad, UP man commits himself; investigation underway

After suffering financial losses on Sunday, a father from Farrukhabad in Uttar Pradesh murdered his five-year-old kid before hanging himself from a tree, according to PTI.

According to the Superintendent, who was reported by PTI, the incident happened in the early hours of the morning in the Jahanganj police station area of Ratanpur village.

The 38-year-old allegedly assaulted his wife Maana, 30, daughter Aashi, 11, and son Osin at about three in the morning when they were all asleep with a sharp-edged object. When she heard the commotion, Dinesh’s sister was able to get the door to the home opened.

As soon as the door was opened, Dinesh departed the area; he subsequently hanged himself from a tree outside of the hamlet.

According to reports, Meena is gravely hurt and both the mother and the girl have been brought to the hospital.

Locals who spoke about the event said that Dinesh had been wrongly defrauded of Rs 40 lakh by a businessman from Kanpur, and that the dead was distressed as a result.

The remains were submitted for post-mortem, according to the police, who also said they were looking into the incident.

Another incidence included the discovery of a 50-year-old man’s corpse in a Goan forest patch a few days before, while the bodies of the man’s wife and little boy were discovered off the coast of adjoining Karnataka.

Shyam Patil, a labour contractor who was reportedly drowning in debt to both institutions and private citizens, has been identified as the dead.

The police official said that Patil informed his friends and a relative through voicemail that he was also taking his own life after his wife and kid had died by suicide.
