The countdown to Prayagraj’s Mahakumbh 2025 has begun

The primary bathing festival’s dates have been announced on a hoarding, which marks the formal start of the countdown to Maha Kumbh 2025. Outside the Prayagraj headquarters of the state tourist department, a billboard advertising the 45-day big religious fair has been erected next to the Hotel Rahi Ilavart grounds.

The three “Shahi Snas,” where seers and saints from the 13 acknowledged ancient Hindu monastic orders of the nation known as “Akharas” take baths, will be hosted during the first 21 days of the fair itself, according to a senior official from the state tourist department. They come in a regal procession that draws tens of thousands of visitors and pilgrims from all over the world to the banks of the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the legendary Saraswati.

“This hoarding has been put up by the hotel administration,” stated D.P. Singh, senior manager of Hotel Ilavart Rahi. The goal is to generate as much exposure as possible for Maha Kumbh-2025 in order to draw participants from all over the globe to this unique and cherished event. The pilgrims and visitors might better arrange their trips if they knew when the bathing festivals were.

The poster states that the fair would begin on January 13, 2025, with the bathing festival of Paush Purnima, followed by “Makar Sankranti” Shahi Snan on January 14, and the bathing festival of Mauni Amavasya on January 29. The third and last Shahi Snan of this fair, the Basant Panchami bathing festival, will occur on February 3rd, 2025. Further specifics are provided by the hoarding, which also states that the ‘Achala Saptami’ bathing will occur on February 4 and the ‘Maghi Purnima’ snan will occur on February 12.
