UP guy tries to use a fire extinguisher to break into an ATM

According to police here, a young guy who was intoxicated tried to break into an ATM and steal money by using a fire extinguisher. He was taken into custody.

The 26-year-old guy tried to smash the ATM at the Lekhraj metro station in Lucknow’s Ghazipur neighbourhood.

Following a report from bank manager Rohit Mishra, police on February 21 filed a formal charge under the theft, mischief, and 511 statutes.

“On Sunday, four days later, the culprit was taken into custody in Sarvoday Nagar, close to Kukrail.

“We have identified him as 26-year-old Alim Khan from Bahraich,” DCP North Abijith R. Shankar said.

The DCP said that further investigations are being conducted.
