UP is prepared for an infra boost

The Yogi Adityanath administration has started a concerted effort to hasten the construction of Uttar Pradesh’s infrastructure. According to authorities here on Sunday, the Public Works Department has approved budgetary allocations and money to quicken existing projects around the state, in line with CM Yogi’s commitment to holistic development.

To expedite the building of three railway overbridges and seven long-distance bridges at three locations in the state under the Railway of India Development Fund (RIDF) plan, the Public Works Department has sanctioned a total of Rs 124.57 crore.

The development of two ongoing projects for a flyover, ring road, and bypass has been authorized for an allocation of Rs 44.86 crore for the fiscal year 2023–24.

In addition, a sizeable amount of Rs 7.36 crore would be set aside for the development of 22 new roads in total to improve rural connectivity among the state’s different districts.

Three railway overbridges and seven long distance bridges are among the ten under-construction projects that would benefit from the expedited construction work under the Railway of India Development Fund (RIDF) plan in the fiscal year 2023–24. So far, two stages of this sequence totaling Rs 98.15 and Rs 26.42 crore have been issued.

A new bridge will be built to replace the damaged bridge on the upper Ganga canal between the villages of Katka and Mandaur in Muzaffarnagar, as well as safety improvements for the Yamuna river bridge and an additional access road on the Alhanpur to Sondhebans road in Saharanpur.

Work is being done to build bridges, access roads to the bridges on the Ganga River, new access routes, and safety precautions in the area between Fatehpur and Raebareli. On the Tons river in Prayagraj, a two-lane bridge and access routes, together with extra access routes and safety precautions, are being built.

On the Rath-Panwari Road in Mahoba, work is being done to build a lengthy bridge. Similar projects include building a bridge over the Noon River in Jalaun and funding for a bridge over the Kuwano River in Basti.

A lengthy bridge on the road, a bridge over the Noon in Jalaun, and a bridge over the Kuwano River in Basti have also received funding allocations.

Additionally, money will be set aside for the construction of four-lane rail overbridges in Prayagraj, a two-lane overpass in the Allahabad-Mughalsarai railway section, and two-lane rail overpasses in Baghpat for the Delhi-Shamli-Shahdara and Saharanpur sections. The completion of these initiatives will now proceed more quickly.

For the 2.10 km Mahmudabad town bypass in Sitapur and the flyover at the Khajanchi crossroads on the four-lane Bargadwa-Kauwabad prison bypass route in Gorakhpur, a total of Rs 44.86 crore has been authorized for development.

The second tranche of the budgeted Rs 100 crore for these projects has been made available. Prior to this, Rs 48 crore was made available to finish these projects.

Similar to this, work has begun to allocate Rs 7.36 crore for the construction of 22 new rural link roads in Muzaffarnagar, Shravasti, Banda, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Bijnor, Auraiya, Pilibhit, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, and Hapur.

The Chief Engineer (Development) and Head of the Public Works Department are in charge of seeing that all these money allocation procedures are carried out in accordance with state government regulations.
