After groom suffers a 30% burn, couple gets married in a hospital

After a horrible incident left the groom, Preston Cobb, with burns covering 32% of his body, the couple from Georgia was married in a burn unit of a hospital. Their ascent to the altar was marked by unwavering resolve and the unwavering assistance of caring nurses. Since being engaged in September 2022, Preston and Tanesha have been planning their ideal wedding, which is scheduled for July 22. But all changed in June when Preston had a terrible workplace mishap, slipping and falling as a result of a chemical leak. The results were severe; he lost four fingers, nine toes, and another four fingers were partly severed.

As Preston was taken to the JMS Burn Center at Doctors Hospital, the extent of his wounds was unfathomable. He had a total of eight procedures, but he still needed weekly treatments to be ready for a significant skin transplant procedure. Preston had a great deal of doubt and briefly thought that it may be his last day. He said, “I was like, Man, she’s not going to want to marry me.”

Preston said, “I’m not the same guy that asked her to marry me.

They were adamant about keeping their promise to one another and wouldn’t allow the accident interfere with their plans. Their goals came realized in large part because to the staff at the JMS Burn Center. Mary Cook, a nurse, overheard the couple planning their wedding. Mary planned a wedding within the hospital with the aid of her coworkers. The chapel at the burn unit was changed into a wedding location, decorated with flowers, and played wedding music by a DJ.

Nurse Mary Cook remarked, “I wanted to give him something positive out of all this negative.” Preston was certain that he wouldn’t move the date of his wedding.

The pair exchanged vows while surrounded by their loved ones. Tanesha proclaimed that nothing would stop her from marrying Preston, and her love and support for him were palpable. There’s nothing that would prohibit me from getting married to him, she said. “I knew that this day would come,” she said. I didn’t anticipate it to be this way.

In order to aid with his medical costs as he continues his tough recuperation, Preston has now set up a GoFundMe campaign.
