An Australian Man Explains Why, During the Funeral, He Cut Off His Dead Brother’s Ear

Jian Zhong Li, an Australian man from Sydney, has revealed the startling reason for his decision to amputate his brother’s ear at his burial. Jian Zhong Li approached his brother’s coffin the day his brother was to be buried with his kid in tow, opened it, and cut off a piece of his brother’s ear. In a last-ditch effort to disprove his nephew’s legitimacy, he claims that he had “no other choice.”

Jian Zhong Li believed that Cheng Zhang Li, his brother Jian Ming Li’s kid, was not his biological son. Jian Ming Li died at the age of 58 from a lung ailment. He derived this conclusion from Cheng’s ability to grow a “suspicious” beard. Cheng would not have been entitled to his father’s bequest, which includes a multimillion-dollar house in the affluent southwest Sydney suburb of Petersham, if the allegations had been verified. There was no legal will left by Jian Ming Li.

Zhong Li was detained in 2022 after the deed was carried out. Although he was accused of tampering with the corpse, he has subsequently revealed his intentions. He claimed to have asked Cheng to do a DNA test at first. Cheng felt forced to act independently, nonetheless, when he was rejected.

Li clarified that he extracted a little piece of the ear for the DNA in an interview with A Current Affair. Further, “We can’t cut the whole thing,” he said. All I needed was a little sample. Li continued by saying his mother, who is 91 years old, ought to receive his brother’s wealth. He went on, “Mother has been living in substandard conditions, so she has to get some maintenance.”

He said that the funeral director had turned down his request for a sample of his brother’s skin or hair, leaving him with “no other chance.” He described how he first put the severed ear in a “plastic bag” before transferring it to a glass jar and putting it in the refrigerator. Later on, it was discovered that Cheng was Jian Ming Li’s biological son.
