This $1.77-lakh toilet seat with motion sensor, UV light, and voice control is popular

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES), widely recognized as the most important technological event in the world, saw a significant shift from the usual hegemony of large technology and car companies in 2024. Rather, 1,400 businesses, each displaying their prototypes in the hopes of attracting investors and customers alike, took center stage, according to the Guardian. A toilet seat that can react to voice instructions was introduced by Kohler, a historic plumbing product company with a century-long tradition, amid this sea of innovative ideas.

The PureWash E930 bidet toilet seat from Kohler, priced at $2,139 (Rs 1,77,487.93), provides a degree of technical complexity that surpasses typical expectations for bathroom fixtures. Designed to suit the majority of toilet seats, this revolutionary addition not only makes using the bathroom more enjoyable but also works with virtual assistants like Alexa or Google Assistant to provide hands-free operation.

The PureWash E930, dubbed as Kohler’s “slimmest bidet seat design yet,” has a compact appearance and a simple 3.5-inch-tall seat. Numerous customizable functions are available with the gadget, such as temperature and water pressure adjustments for the bidet spray. Customers have the option of using the high-pressure “boost spray” or the soft “child mode,” and the stainless steel wand automatically cleans itself with UV light once every 24 hours.

Even if it costs a lot, the PureWash E930 is a more affordable option than fully integrated smart toilets, which might save consumers money and the hassles of installing expensive ones that cost between $8,000 (Rs 662,960) and $10,000 (Rs 828,700).

Motion sensors on the PureWash E930 improve its hands-free capabilities by opening and closing the lid without making physical touch. With the help of its integrated UV light, this bidet seat has a self-cleaning mode that can be activated by voice commands on Alexa or Google Home. The warm air drier, UV cleaning, and bidet spray may all be turned on by voice assistance.

A heated seat, front and rear wash modes, and a remote control with two customizable presets are among the extra amenities. In order to improve flushing efficiency, the bidet mists the toilet bowl before to use. Users may also customize the water temperature and pressure, selecting between pulsing and oscillating sprays. Its rear-only boost spray mode automatically increases pressure, and its kid mode makes sure that younger users get a gentle and tender wash. Having a warm-air system with temperature settings that can be adjusted makes drying pleasant.

Furthermore, the PureWash E930 has Kohler’s “Quiet-Close” technology, which stops seats from slamming, and LED illumination that can be used as a nightlight. The quick-release feature makes removal simple, enabling thorough cleanings and guaranteeing hygienic practices.

The PureWash E930 is now available for purchase on Kohler’s website in white. A black version is expected to launch in late February.
