This is Japan’s Wildest Museum, with toilet-themed entrances and treats fashioned like feces

The Museum of History and the Museum of Art are well known to all of us, and some of us may even be aware of other museums that have odd as their specialty. But Japan has defied tradition altogether by naming a whole museum after excrement. Now, you are erroneous if you believe that what you imagined when you read it was different from what it really is. The internet is suddenly buzzing about this unique museum, generating a diverse array of opinions.

An Instagram travel page from Japan posted the footage. It features a vlogger guiding viewers around an unusual museum. The first scene of the video has a toilet seat cover motif. Along with a light display and activities with a toilet theme, there are marshmallows, sweets, cakes, and cupcakes shaped like feces inside. The exhibit is decked out in pastel and colorful décor fashioned like excrement.

Over 8 million people watched the video on the social networking site. As one would anticipate, the comments section was hilarious and shocking. It seems that everyone in the comments section is suffering from “why-itis.”

“Okay, but why?” a user said.

As one user put it in a funny way, “People say Japan is the future. Japan:

Another person said, “I don’t know why, but I really want to go there.”

The Unko institution, which means “Faeces Museum,” is the name of the institution. It is located on Odaiba Island in Tokyo. A transient pop-up exhibition in Yokohama that was devoted to anything feces garnered international notice in March 2019, according to GaijinPot Travel. The group behind this unusual resort built a permanent site in Tokyo after six months of tremendous success. The museum is just one more of the numerous Instagram-worthy locations in Tokyo’s hip Odaiba neighborhood.

All of the museum’s exhibits, interactive experiences, and installations are centered on the concept of “Max Unko Kawaii,” which translates to “the maximum cuteness of faeces.”

A representative for the Unko Museum told CNN Travel that this is the first time in history that excrement has been displayed for amusement rather than just as a museum exhibit. In only its first week of operation, the museum reportedly welcomed up to 10,000 visitors, according to the news site.
