University Alumnus With 24 LPA Salary Resigns his Job to Try to Crack UPSC, But Isn’t Selected

One of the most difficult competitive examinations in the nation is the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE). Many aspirant students study for the same exams and show up year. And just a few of them succeed in beating the odds and passing the tests to be appointed to a number of esteemed positions inside the Indian government. Even though the Civil Services Exam 2023 results have just been released, a number of motivational success stories about the candidates’ unwavering perseverance and diligence have been going viral online. In the midst of this, those who failed the tests are often forgotten.

The tale of one such student has gone viral online. Despite being the highest student at his institution, he was unable to pass the Civil Services Examination despite trying four times. An X user recently posted a snapshot of a chat with the UPSC candidate, describing how the guy is smiling and maintaining a positive attitude while concealing his feelings of sorrow. The person, a university topper, reportedly quit his 24 LPA job to study for a test, according to the post. After four years of intense study sessions and four tries, he almost missed the cut.

It said, “That’s how men are, hiding emotions, pain, and still smiling.” The guy uploaded a photo of himself outside the UPSC building and said, “Ye photo soche the dalenge sidhe, gallery mei hi reh gaya (I thought I would share this picture directly, but it remained in the gallery).” This exchange, however, seems much more cruel.

Many people voiced their opinions in reaction to the message. “That gallery mei hee rah gya was so deep!” a user said. “The pain of failure when u know u have worked hard,” said someone another.

He is still eligible for two more tries in the general category and one more under the reserved category. The upsc philosophy is to “try hard again and keep trying until you get the result,” as one user put it.

“Beyond the smiles, lies a story of perseverance and determination,” said someone another. Let’s respect and encourage one another on our journeys and appreciate the perseverance required to go through them. Over 10,000 people have liked and over 400,000 people have seen the tweet so far.
