CM of Bihar Nitish Kumar on Oppn’s INDIA Bloc’s boycott of news anchors: “I Support Journalists”

Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, said on Saturday that he is unaware of the opposition’s INDIA bloc’s decision to boycott the performances and events organized by 14 journalists and that he supports them. In order to unite against the BJP before the Lok Sabha elections of 2024, Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) is one of the 26 like-minded parties.

“I don’t know anything about this…I’m in favor of supporting the media. Journalists will publish anything they want until everyone has complete freedom. Are they under control? Have I done it before? They have rights, and I don’t oppose anyone. Currently, a small number of individuals are under the influence of those at the Center…Those who were there must have sensed something was going on. I have nothing against anybody, however. Journalists would write anything they want if given complete freedom. Everybody has rights, Bihar’s chief minister Nitish Kumar remarked, according to news agency ANI.

The media committee for the INDIA group decided to boycott 14 TV hosts on Thursday. 14 news anchors are included on a list that the INDIA bloc’s leaders have released. Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera countered that the INDIA coalition “has not boycotted or blacklisted anyone,” but rather that it is a movement of non-cooperation, and that if the 14 journalists mentioned are made aware of their errors, opposition leaders would begin attending their programmes.

The opposition group was attacked by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which labeled it as having “contempt against media” and “hatred against free journalism.”

The list, according to Sambit Patra, was a “target list”. Who will be held accountable if any members of your party assault these journalists? he demanded. According to Patra, who was reported by the news agency ANI, “This was a hit job, done by a kill list provided by the Congress party and the “INDIA alliance.”

According to Pawan Khera, who on Thursday published a list of journalists, “Hate stores are adorned on certain channels every day from 5 p.m. onwards. We won’t buy anything from the bazaar of hatred. ‘Hate-Free India’ is our goal. It was determined to abstain from several anchors’ broadcasts and events with a sad heart. We have been battling against unbridled remarks, false information, and other attacks on our leaders and we will keep fighting, but we will not tolerate the growth of hate in society. Love will triumph over hatred.
