Fly With Regional Air Connectivity Scheme For As Low As Rs 150, Here’s How

Pay only Rs 150 for your basic ticket, and go to Tezpur from Lilabari in 50 minutes.

There are several more routes where the starting ticket price is less than Rs 1,000, not only this one.

They are all run under the regional air connectivity program, which offers the airline operators a number of incentives.

There are at least 22 itineraries where the basic ticket is less than Rs 1,000 per person, with the lowest being Rs 150 for flights linking Lilabari and Tezpur in Assam, according to an analysis shared by travel site ixigo with PTI. The lowest base ticket for a one-way trip from Lilabari to Tezpur (Assam) is Rs 150. Alliance Air is the airline operating the flights.

Convenience fees will be added to the base rate at the time of ticket booking. Flights on these routes under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) typically last 50 minutes.

The North East has the majority of the routes with basic prices between Rs 150 and Rs 199 per person. According to the data, there are other routes in the South, such as Bangalore-Salem and Cochin-Salem, where the basic ticket rates fall within this range. The basic fare for flights to and from Guwahati and Shillong is Rs 400.

The rate for flights from Imphal to Aizawl, Dimapur to Shillong, and Shillong to Lilabari is Rs 500. The standard ticket price for the Bangalore-Salem flight is Rs 525. Based on the data, the basic cost for the Guwahati-Pasighat route is Rs 999, while the base airfare for the Lilabari-Guwahati route is Rs 954.

According to one industry official, these are some of the less-traveled routes, and there are other ways to get there in more than five hours. According to the most recent information provided by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), as many as 559 routes have been operationalized under the RCS, popularly known as UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik), until March 31, 2024.

Airport operators, state governments, and the federal government provide different incentives for RCS flights. Among other things, these planes don’t charge for parking or landing. On October 21, 2016, the civil aviation ministry introduced UDAN with the goal of promoting regional air connectivity and lowering the cost of air travel.
