Mcap Of The Top 9 Valuable Companies Increases By Rs 2.26 Lakh Cr, With TCS And Infosys Recording The Largest Gains

Amidst an overall optimistic trend in stocks, the aggregate market valuation of nine of the top ten most valued companies increased by Rs 2.26 lakh crore last week. The largest gainers were Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Infosys.

The BSE benchmark increased by 1,658.15 points, or 2.37 percent, last week.

The 30-share BSE Sensex reached its record closing high of 71,483.75 on Friday, rising 969.55 points, or 1.37 percent, in the process. The value reached an all-time intra-day high level of 71,605.76, rising 1,091.56 points, or 1.54%, throughout the day.

The aggregate market value of the nine companies—which include Infosys, TCS, ICICI Bank, and Reliance Industries—rose to Rs 2,26,391.77 crore, with Bharti Airtel being the only company in the top ten to trail behind.

TCS’s market value increased by the most amount among the top ten companies, from Rs 85,493.74 crore to Rs 14,12,412.13 crore.

Infosys increased its value to Rs 6,55,457.54 crore by adding Rs 36,793.61 crore.

State Bank of India’s market value increased by Rs 30,700.67 crore to Rs 5,78,671.84 crore, while Reliance Industries’ valuation increased by Rs 26,386.16 crore to Rs 16,88,173.26 crore.

The market capitalization (map) of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) soared by Rs 14,294.5 crore to Rs 5,03,722.82 crore, while that of ICICI Bank surged by Rs 18,493.9 crore to Rs 7,27,330.82 crore.

The value of HDFC Bank increased by Rs 2,428.72 crore to Rs 12,57,093.46 crore, while that of ITC increased by Rs 11,412.78 crore to Rs 5,71,636.39 crore.

Hindustan Unilever Limited’s value increased to Rs 5,92,801.88 crore as it added Rs 387.69 crore.

Nevertheless, Bharti Airtel’s value dropped to Rs 5,58,242.75 crore from Rs 3,654.15 crore.

Reliance Industries remained the most valuable company, with TCS, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, State Bank of India, ITC, Bharti Airtel, and LIC following in order of value.
