Nov. 28: New Prices for Gas and Diesel Announced: Examine the Fuel Prices in Your City

The price of crude oil on the global market is still unchanged. Tuesday morning, at around six in the morning, WTI oil was trading at $75.22 per barrel and was still in the green. Simultaneously, Brent oil is seeing a very modest decline in price, trading at $79.98 per barrel. The nation’s oil marketing firms have made available the most recent prices for gasoline and diesel. Every morning at six a.m., gasoline prices are updated in India. Price revisions were made every 15 days prior to June 2017.

In Chhattisgarh, the price of diesel has increased by 49 paise and that of gasoline by 50 paise. The cost of fuel is rising by 49 pisas and that of gasoline by 55 pisas in Himachal Pradesh. The price of gasoline and diesel has increased by 27 paisas even in Uttar Pradesh. Similar price increases for gasoline and diesel have been reported in Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Uttarakhand, among other states. However, diesel has decreased in price by 27 paisa and petrol by 30 paisa in Rajasthan. Other than this, Maharashtra, Bihar, and Telangana seem to have cheaper gas and fuel.

Speaking about crude oil, its price has dropped once again in the last day on the international market. Brent oil is now trading at $ 80.01 per barrel. WTI is now trading at $75.50 a barrel as well.

Right now, a litre of petrol costs Rs 96.72 in Delhi, while a litre of diesel costs Rs 89.62. In contrast, a liter of diesel costs Rs 94.27 and a litre of petrol costs Rs 106.31 in Mumbai. In Kolkata, a liter of petrol costs Rs 106.03, while a litre of diesel costs Rs 92.76. However, in Chennai, a liter of diesel is sold for Rs 94.24 and a gallon of petrol for Rs 102.63.

The pricing of gasoline and diesel in India are set by oil marketing companies (OMCs) such Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum. Every day, this is carried out, and rates are established based on global crude oil prices.

Why do gas prices differ across states?

Every day at six in the morning, the rates are released, whether they are new or not. However, they differ from one state to the next because of factors like local taxes, freight costs, value added tax (VAT), etc.
