Opening Bell: On December 22, markets open higher, with the Sensex at 70,883.76 and the Nifty over 21,200

With the Sensex up 18.66 points at 70,883.76 and the Nifty up 10.45 points at 21,265.50, the markets began higher on Friday.

In the morning trade, Nifty Bank was down 32.70 points, or 0.07 percent, at 47,807.45.

NTPC, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, HCL Tech, and Bajaj Finserv were among the top gainers from the Sensex pack in the morning session, while the top losers were M&M, Infosys, ICICI Bank, LT, and Reliance.

Thursday’s market

On Thursday, the benchmark indexes had a successful day’s conclusion. The 30-share BSE Sensex closed at 70,865.10, up 358.79 points, or 0.51 percent. The NSE Nifty, meanwhile, increased by 104.90 points, or 0.5%, to close the day at 21,255.05. At 47,849.40, Nifty Bank increased by 404.10 points, or 0.85%, during the day.

On Thursday, the US markets concluded with a gain. To achieve 37,404.35, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 322.35 points, or 0.87 percent. In a similar vein, the Nasdaq Composite gained 185.92 points (1.26 percent) to 14,963.87, while the S&P 500 gained 48.4 points (1.03 percent) to 4,746.75.

On Friday, Asian markets began trading at a higher level. The Nikkei 225 of Japan increased by 90.43 points to close at 33,230.90. South Korea’s KOSPI increased by 4.83 points to 2,604.85, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 97.78 points to trade at 16,718.91. Additionally, the Gifty Nifty for India is down 34.50 points at 21,385.50.

Oil costs

Oil prices rose on Friday morning during early trading. By 0121 GMT, Brent oil futures had increased by 23 cents, or 0.3%, to US $ 79.62 per barrel. At the same time, U.S. West Texas Intermediate oil futures increased by 22 cents to US $ 74.11 a barrel, or a 0.3% increase.

Rupee

On Friday, the opening value of the Indian rupee was slightly higher than the previous day’s finish, at 83.24 per dollar.
