The Reason This Well-liked Streaming App Won’t Be Available on Apple’s Vision Pro Headset

Hundreds of games and streaming applications will work with Apple Vision Pro at launch, but one platform will not support it. It is confirmed by Netflix that there won’t be a specific app for the Vision Pro headset. Actually, according to the firm, the iPad app won’t work with the headgear either.

So, how can someone use the headset—which costs more than Rs 3 lakh—to view Netflix shows? According to the platform, using the web browser version is the only way to stream Netflix content on the Vision Pro headset.

However, wouldn’t it reduce the quality of the streaming on the headset with all the luxuries? Yes, you would undoubtedly get a lesser quality video, and Netflix movies and series won’t soon be able to enjoy the supposedly immersive experience of the Vision Pro.

Netflix’s choice to forgo an app for the platform may have been influenced by its broader strategy in this market, since the company is obviously not attracted to Apple’s upcoming headgear. Ultimately, Netflix did release a specific app for the Meta Quest headset, but it was updated quite some time ago, indicating that the corporation is not very interested in the ecosystem of devices—at least not yet.

In a few days, Apple Vision Pro will go up for pre-order in the US, with sales beginning on January 19. Then on February 2nd, the product will go on sale.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has disclosed that Apple may be considering bringing the Vision Pro to a global audience prior to its WWDC 2024 presentation, as the media obtains the device for evaluations.

It has also been noted that Apple may be developing a method to use a face scan to guarantee that customers purchasing the $3,499 Vision Pro receive the correct size. This is due to Apple’s desire for the Vision Pro to fit customers’ heads appropriately for best performance, which can only be achieved if they purchase the headset with the appropriate Headband and Light Seal.

Apple will include the headset itself, a USB-C power adapter and cable, a Solo Knit Band, a Dual Loop Band, a Light Seal, two Light Seal Cushions, the device’s front cover, and a cleaning cloth in the package.
