Xiaomi 14 Joins The Party With Leica Cameras And Flagship Hardware

With the launch of the Xiaomi 14 series, the business is back on track as it attempts to take the premium market in India by storm. The company’s new strategy includes educating consumers about its collaboration with Leica, the advantages it offers, and how Xiaomi is prepared to take on more expensive competitors like Samsung and Apple.

Moving up the ladder has been more difficult than anticipated for a firm that has remained committed to its value-for-money offering, but it is prepared to demonstrate that the goods are worthy of notice. Part of that goal is the Xiaomi 14 model, which is why we chose to test it and see whether the device’s Rs 69,999 price tag—which might drop with the appropriate offers—can be met.

CHARMING CHARMS IN A COMPACT FORM
Finding a powerful phone that is still small has become difficult, but Xiaomi has allayed users’ worries with the Xiaomi 14 model. No matter what size hands you have, its small dimensions allow it to fit snugly into your palms and not feel bulky. Another huge plus for us is that the edges are flat rather than curved, which eliminates the requirement for a high-end phone to be enormous and curved.

The Xiaomi 14 is available in a variety of colors, but the matte black model that we were able to test is the best option—especially if you don’t want your phone to act as a mirror. It’s encouraging to see Xiaomi adopt this strategy for size and design, enabling users to experience a capable flagship in a small box.

Photographs CAN EXcite You
We made the decision to give the Xiaomi 14’s camera greater prominence because it merits it. The triple rear-camera unit of the Leica co-engineered arrangement has a 50MP wide main sensor, a 50MP telephoto 75mm sensor, and a 50MP ultrawide 14mm sensor. Together, Xiaomi and Leica have made it possible for you to take photos that are rich in details and seem authentic.

You can get more use out of the lenses because of their diversity, and since they’re all tiny, you can shoot for hours on end without experiencing fatigue.

We had a great time shooting monochrome (black-and-white) pictures with the Xiaomi 14, which brought back memories of our initial impressions of the Xiaomi 13 Pro model from last year. The Leica filters give the photos an additional layer of natural tone that gives them a clean, contemporary look. We really enjoyed photographing people and objects with the equally potent 75mm portrait lens in this mode.

OS SEEMS ALMOST NEW
Xiaomi has made a lot of noise about HyperOS and its intention to create a vehicle and other ecosystem-building products around the platform. Though it’s still early in the OS’s development, we liked that the software seemed more fluid when we had a chance to play with the new OS. However, we discovered that the interface is extremely MIUI-like, which isn’t a negative thing.

It’s also important to note that Xiaomi 14 comes with pre-loaded applications and bloatware, some of which cannot be removed. Although these problems have dogged MIUI for years, we saw the same thing once again.

As HyperOS is refined more, we hope that things will become better. Xiaomi promises that users will get five years of security upgrades in addition to four OS updates, which is encouraging—but only if the updates come out swiftly.

Hardware for horses ticks off
The Xiaomi 14 is a flagship phone that is small and contains all the features that a high-end gadget should have in 2024. It has a 6.36-inch LTPO OLED display with Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and an adjustable refresh rate of 120 Hz. There wasn’t anything to be unhappy about—the display is clear and the colors are vibrant.

With 512GB of storage, you will have plenty of room to spare after purchasing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU, which is combined with up to 12GB of RAM in the nation. There is very little noticeable strain on the chipset thanks to excellent performance and even good heat management.

With this bundle, the Xiaomi 14 can provide a full day of battery life. When the battery runs low, the integrated 90W charging support can recharge the device in under 20 minutes.
