A crime branch request to revoke Dileep’s bail is denied by the Kerala High Court

The Crime Branch’s appeal to revoke actor Dileep’s bail in the 2017 actor abduction case was denied by the Kerala High Court.
The Indian Express claims that Justice Sophy Thomas refused to rescind the bail and placed a strong focus on moving the trial forward quickly, pointing to the crime’s 2017 occurrence as support.

In 2017, the High Court granted bail to Dileep, the eighth accused in the case, on the condition that he not directly or indirectly influence, intimidate, or coerce the victim or any prosecution witnesses.

Dileep was charged by the prosecution with breaking these terms via witness manipulation, evidence destruction, and plotting with friends and family to discredit the Special Investigation Team.
The cross-examination of the investigating officer is the only thing left to do in this case, according to the Director General of Prosecutions. Removing Dileep’s bail might cause further issues and drawn-out litigation given the trial’s advanced state, which could possibly throw off the proceedings just as they are about to conclude.
The DGP said that while the trial court rejected the Crime Branch’s request, its observations were more concerned with how the matter was handled than with the veracity of the accusations.
Regarding work, Dileep’s most anticipated crime thriller, “Thankamani,” is set to hit theaters on March 7.
