After a promising debut with Jayam in 2002, this Telugu actor delivered 8 duds

Popularly known as Nithiin, Nithiin Kumar Reddy is a well-known actor and producer who predominantly works in the Telugu cinema industry. He made his acting debut in the romantic action film Jayam, released in 2002, and received appreciation for the part. He has received honors including the South Filmfare Award and the Best Debut Actor CineMAA Award. Despite a strong start, Nithiin’s career has been dogged by failures, with many of his movies failing to make a splash at the box office.

Nithiin went on to appear in films like Dil, Sye, and Mr. Anjaneyam after making his film debut. Although Sri Anjaneyam won the Best Young Artist Award at the Santosham Film Awards, the movie sadly did poorly at the box office.

Sye and Allari Bullodu, two of Nithiin’s films that came after his popular debut, earned negative reviews. A number of movies, including Dhairyam, Raam, Takkari, Aatadista, Victory, Drona, Agyaat, and Maaro, sadly failed to find success at the box office. While a handful of his films had a respectable box office take, the remainder were failures.

Nithin’s career suffered after he had an astounding eight straight failures. He toiled for six to seven years to produce a successful movie. He subsequently made the decision to open Shreshtha Movies in 2013. Nithin made appearances in a few mediocre movies and one blockbuster in between. Following many instances of failure, Nithiin found success with the love stories Ishq and Gunday Jaari Galanthayinde, winning Filmfare Awards for each of their performances.

The cinematic career of Nithiin has also been distinguished by notable successes in movies like Heart Attack, A Aa, and Bhishma. He was nominated for two coveted SIIMA Award nominations for Best Actor – Telugu for his outstanding performances in the last two movies. In addition to this, he has supported a number of well-regarded movies, including Akhil: The Power of Jua, Chinnadana Nee Kosam, and Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde.

As a brand ambassador for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in Telangana, he keeps a close eye on the state’s efforts to promote cleanliness and hygiene. The last time we saw him was in the 2022 movie Macherla Niyojakavargam. He will soon appear in a number of forthcoming movies including Extra, MCA2, and #VNRTrio.
