Did you know that Mollywood actress Shobana was the reason Vidya Balan agreed to star in “Bhool Bhulaiyaa”? The actress discloses

For cinema buffs, Vidya Balan’s depiction of Manjulika in the 2007 smash blockbuster “Bhool Bhulaiyaa” is one of the most memorable roles. Vidya just came clean and said that she didn’t even read the screenplay before selecting this part. She was enthralled by Priyadarshan’s first Malayalam film, “Manichitrathazhu,” and she was unable to resist accepting the offer.

Vidya said in an interview with PTI that she visited director Priyadarshan in Mumbai when he was filming an advertisement with Sunny Deol. When they first met on the set at his request, the actress disclosed how terrifying the first Malayalam movie “Manichitrathazhu” was. She saw it as a child and thought Shobana, who played the lead, did a fantastic job. However, she was terrified by it and never again watched the movie.

But Vidya accepted Priyan’s offer for the movie right away. She’d seen the original, so there was no need for a script.
This was the quickest meeting she had for a movie and the fastest she has said “yes” to a movie. Vidya went on to cite a sequence from the Malayalam film that showed how masterfully Priyadarshan had done Shobana’s metamorphosis into a supernatural being.

Kartik Aaryan and Triptii Dimri play key parts in the forthcoming Anees Bazmee sequel “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3,” which also features Vidya Balan’s thrilling return as Manjulika. On Diwali, it is anticipated to be in theatres.
Vidya Balan’s next film, “Do Aur Do Pyaar,” will be released at the same time. The romance drama, which is helmed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta, is set to release on April 19.
