‘Disrespectful’: Makeup Artist Zeba Leaves The Ambani Wedding Celebration Due To SRK’s ‘Idly’ Remark About Ram Charan

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant celebrated their pre-wedding for three days in Jamnagar, with celebrities from India and across the world attending.

Among the many well-known faces on the star-studded guest list were Madhuri Dixit, Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Ram Charan, Rani Mukerji, and Kareena Kapoor.

When Ram Idli calls, Shah Rukh Khan
The three great Khans—Salman, Shah Rukh, and Aamir—shared the stage on the second day of the celebrations, a once-in-a-lifetime reunion that the crowd got to see. They tried to imitate the hook step from the hit song “Naatu Naatu” by Ram Charan and Jr. NTR from the movie RRR. As they danced together on stage, Ram Charan himself joined them, heightening the excitement.

Asking Ram Charan to come on stage with them, Shah Rukh Khan called him ‘idli,’ in a lighthearted way. Zeba Hassan, Ram Charan’s makeup artist, responded to this playful gesture by expressing her appreciation for Shah Rukh Khan but her dissatisfaction with the manner in which he shouted out to Ram Charan during the occasion.

Zeba claims that SRK treated Ram disrespectfully.
The Free Press Journal claims that Zeba expressed her displeasure with Shah Rukh Khan’s actions. “Bhend idly vada Ram charan kahan hai tu (calling out the names of snacks, Ram Charan, where are you)???” she remarked in an Instagram Stories post. Following this occurrence, I departed the event. It was inconsiderate of a celebrity of Ram Charan’s caliber.”

Shah Rukh receives criticism
Social media users’ responses to Shah Rukh Khan’s remark that Ram Charan is “idli” raise questions about racial stereotypes and insensitivity to South Indians. Khan’s remark has been seen by some as casually racist, perpetuating preconceptions about the culture of South India. The term “idli” used to refer to the well-known South Indian actor Ram Charan has drawn criticism from people who are disappointed and frustrated.

Zeba’s Instagram post, which was subsequently removed, also discusses more general concerns of prejudice and unfair treatment that South Indian musicians have in comparison to their Delhi or Mumbai counterparts. According to the statement, there is a wage and recognition gap in the Indian entertainment business depending on a person’s place of origin. These opinions illuminate more fundamental structural problems in the sector and in society at large.
