His writing lines are now

I wrote my paranormal novel Blood Moon in the midst of the Covid-19 epidemic. During the lockdown, I had an idea, so I decided to write my creative thoughts down. I had been stewing over this topic for years, and the events forced me to put pen to paper. I had the good fortune to get in touch with Sohail Mathur of Book Bakers, a fantastic literary agency that saw Blood Moon’s potential. The beginning of my adventure came when the work was noticed by Om Books International publisher Ajay Mago in a short amount of time.

How did you make the switch from being a writer to a filmmaker?

Even though I’ve gained recognition for my filmmaking, especially for roles in films like Kaal and Luck, Karan Johar deserves all the credit for seeing my writing ability. Collaborating with him on initiatives like Bhoot and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham motivated me to investigate narrative in an alternative format. I began writing screenplays at that point and subsequently dabbled with book writing.

Could you describe your writing process in more detail and how it varies for movies?

My approach to storytelling is more visual since I’m a filmmaker. Before I build the characters, plot, script, and dialogue, I concentrate on putting up the environment and mood. Writing a book means diving into the story and building a universe with words alone, which calls for a different kind of thinking. I’ve found that changing my writing style for novels has been both gratifying and difficult.

What authors have influenced your work, and who are some of them?

Even though I’m not a big reader, writers like J.K. Rowling, JRR Tolkien, and Ruskin Bond inspire me. Their skill at building engrossing worlds and gripping stories has had a big impact on how I tell stories.

In what ways does your experience as a filmmaker inform the way you approach literary narratives?

My ability to picture situations and locales in a cinematic manner contributes to the rich and engrossing reading experience. It enables me to immerse readers in the story by creating a vivid image for them.

How would you advise aspiring authors?

Always maintain your authenticity and value your own viewpoint.
