How Krishna, Played By Vidya Balan in the 2010 Movie Ishqiya, Disproved The Stereotypes Of A Bollywood Heroine

One of Bollywood’s most adaptable performers, Vidya Balan expertly embodies the core of each character’s individuality. Among her finest efforts is the movie Ishqiya (2010). Moviegoers were stunned by her depiction of the adversary in the movie. Leading ladies were often portrayed as the charming, intelligent love interest that the hero would do everything to be with.

When Vidya Balan played a villain in the 2010 movie Ishqiya, she defied this preconception. In the movie, Krishna, her character, manages to defy the stereotype of a “helpless woman.” Krishna made the decision to take charge on her own. With her depiction of Krishna in Ishqiya, Vidya Balan demonstrated her acting prowess and dominated the two heroes of the movie. In a previous interview, she discussed her role in the movie and said that Krishna was a woman with “gray shades” like any other. Her distinctive portrayal of Krishna won her well-earned accolades from reviewers, who also gave the movie high marks overall.

Krishna is a character in the movie who aspires to have a happy life with her spouse. Tragically, things turn out badly, and her spouse is slain. Rather than moping about her situation, she begins to plot her retribution. In Hindi film, it was a welcome change of pace since the heroine took charge of her own rescue instead of waiting to be rescued.

Black comedy Ishqiya is directed by Abhishek Chaubey, who made his feature film debut with its 2010 release. The film’s main cast members were Vidya Balan, Arshad Warsi, and Naseeruddin Shah, with Salman Shahid, Adil Hussain, Rajesh Sharma, Anupama Kumar, and others providing assistance. Under the auspices of Shemaroo Entertainment and Vishal Bhardwaj Pictures, Raman Maroo and Vishal Bhardwaj produced it. Vishal Bhardwaj created the soundtrack for the movie.
