Namit Malhotra has bought the Ramayana rights of Ranbir Kapoor

The star-studded cast of Nitesh Tiwari’s “Ramayana” has been making waves. The movie is in the news because Namit Malhotra’s business, DNEG, is in the process of taking over the project, which goes beyond the casting specifics.

“Notice is hereby given to the public in general and film trade in particular that our clients are in the process of acquiring the rights in relation to project Ramayana which is based on the epic Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and the script written by Shridhar Raghavan (“Project Ramayana”),” Namir’s attorney wrote in a public notice to the film industry.
The statement went on to say, “These rights were granted to Madhu Mantena by and under the conditions of the consent filed in Execution Application (L) No. before the Bombay High Court.

The rights to the script written by Shridhar Raghavan, the works created by Nitesh Tiwari, and all title registrations pertaining to “Ramayana” were subsequently assigned to our clients. 27808 of 2021 was filed on December 8, 2021, for the execution of the Arbitration Award dated March 3, 2021 (“Consent Terms”). It makes it very evident that Madhu Mantena would transfer the rights to Namit Malhotra’s business.
Sridhar Raghavan is the author of this epic, in which Sai Pallavi plays Sita and Ranbir Kapoor plays Ram. The project has also been linked to names like Yash, Sunny Deol, Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh, and Amitabh Bachchan. The cast hasn’t been confirmed by the creators yet, however. The movie is scheduled to begin production in the summer of 2024. According to rumors, the film’s formal announcement is scheduled for April 17, 2024, which falls on the same day as this year’s Ram Navami event, which honors Ram’s birth.
