‘Told Danny Boyle I Wouldn’t Like…’ is how Shah Rukh Khan explains why he turned down Slumdog Millionaire

Shah Rukh Khan said that he received an opportunity to play the host in the Academy Award–winning movie Slumdog Millionaire. When the actor revealed that Danny Boyle had given him the role, he spoke candidly about working in Hollywood at the World Government Summit 2024 in Dubai. However, he turned down the part, and it ended up in Anil Kapoor’s cat. It so happened that Danny Boyle offered SRK the part when he was presenting Who Wants to be a Millionaire, also known as Kaun Banega Crorepati, in India.

“Yeah, Slumdog was there, now that you mention it,” Shah Rukh said during his speech at the occasion. And I hang out with Mr. Boyle a lot. He is so charming. However, I was performing effectively on television at the time as Kaun Banega Crorepati on Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Additionally, I had the impression that the story’s presenter was really cruel throughout.

SRK said that his name was suggested for the film by the Kaun Banega Crorepati producers. But since the movie’s presenter was portrayed as being dishonest, he wasn’t interested in going after the position. “As the emcee (in the film), I was lying and cheating. I’ve just discovered that it’s quite odd that I cheat in the movie when hosting on KBC. I then told Mr. Boyle that there are actors much better than me and that I would really prefer not to do it. Additionally, he said, “I think Mr. Anil Kapoor did it and he was fantastic as the host.”

Regarding his career in Hollywood, Shah Rukh said that while there have been discussions, no firm offer has reached his desk. “I’ve been honest about this, but no one seems to trust me. I will thus be very, really honest with you. I’ve never received a job offer. shift in content. It’s possible that I’ve spoken with a number of nice individuals from the west, including those in the English and American film industries. However, I haven’t had any excellent job offers,” said Shah Rukh, one of only two Indians invited to the 2024 World Government Summit.
