Travis Scott said he is always thinking about the people who perished in the Astroworld tragedy

Rapper Travis Scott (II) has said that the victims who lost their lives and their families in the disaster are constantly on his thoughts. In 2021, while performing at Astroworld in his hometown of Houston, Texas, a huge crowd crush claimed the lives of ten people close to the front of the stage.

“I consider it constantly. Those supporters resembled my family. I really adore my fans, you know that. There are times when it might be difficult and, well. All you can do is feel sorry for them. and their families,” Scott said in the GQ magazine’s December/January edition.

The “Goosebumps” actor found it “therapeutic” to express his feelings via his new album, “Utopia,” despite being “overly devastated” by what transpired.

“When you make music, you think about life and the events that occur in it, and you focus on certain things,” he remarked. It was a terrible time for families and the city, you know.”

“And when it came to doing the album—like, really completing it—I think it was months and months and months after that I got back into it. The concept of just returning to music, working on it, and engaging with it again was also beneficial since it allowed one to focus part of their energy on creating the sounds and completing the piece. You know, I was just very upset. Sure.”

The song ‘My Eyes’ from ‘Utopia’ alludes to the events that transpired.

Scott thought to himself, “(It’s about) the things I deal with on a daily basis and the possibility that it may be misinterpreted as well as the challenges of life in general. The ongoing accumulation of weight.”

“That you are aware of carrying. and just a picture as seen by me. It just emerged as I was writing. It was a genuine moment, as I said. I find the song to be really moving. It’s among the album’s best tracks in my opinion. And I really value that verse.”

“I want people to understand that I’m also in anguish. I have worries, I think about things, and I consider the things I observe in my daily life. Additionally, I strive to improve myself, the situation, and everything around me every day. I just experience things in the same way as everyone else. And even more recently, via something I could never have predicted. Thus.”
