Increased instances of chickenpox in the Ernakulam district prompt warnings

Following a spike in chickenpox cases, the district health department in Ernakulam has asked the public to exercise caution. In the area, there were as many as 246 and 273 cases of chickenpox recorded in January and February, respectively. Three fatalities have also occurred. Children, the elderly, and those with comorbidities have all been negatively impacted. Dr. Sakeena K., the district medical officer, cautioned that self-medication and delayed diagnosis might have catastrophic consequences.
