There is a wide range of cuisine available, such as the crispy deliciousness of pakoras packed with a variety of vegetables, paneer, and even unexpected combinations like cheese, as well as the pleasant tanginess of chaats topped with tamarind chutney and spices.

Additionally, besan is a staple in Indian cooking. On a rainy day, there is not a single individual in existence who will reject the besan-based delicacies. These monsoon-themed treats made from besan not only tempt the taste buds, but also evoke memories of relaxing in the rain with loved ones.

Crunchy Besan Toast

The crispy besan toast requires the following ingredients: 1 cup besan, 1/2 cup water, 1/4 cup chopped onion, 1/4 cup chopped tomato, 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper, 1 finely chopped green chile, 1/4 cup ginger paste, 1/4 cup turmeric powder, and 1/2 cup red chili powder. If desired, add salt. Bread slices, followed with some butter for toasting.

All that’s left to do is mix the besan and water to produce a smooth batter in a larger dish to make the crispy besan toast. Make any required adjustments to the water so that you can pour the batter. Onions, tomatoes, capsicum, green chilies, ginger paste, turmeric, red chili powder, and salt should then be added to the batter.

The next step is to heat a nonstick pan to medium-high heat. Butter should be spread on one side of each piece of bread. By dipping the buttered side of the bread slice into the besan batter, make sure the bread slice is uniformly covered on both sides. The bread slice should then be put on the pan with the besan-coated side facing down. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown on the bottom. Simply turn the bread slice over with a spatula and cook the other side for a further minute. Besan toast has to be removed from the pan and put on a dish. Use the leftover bread pieces and batter to make more besan toast, and then serve them hot with ketchup or another dip of your choosing.

Besan Peda

To make besan peda, you need the following ingredients: A dash of nutmeg powder, a dash of cardamom powder, and some sliced almonds or pistachios for garnish were added to the mixture of 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 1/4 cup ghee, 1 cup besan, and 1/4 cup milk.

To make the crispy besan peda, just heat a heavy-bottomed pot over low heat while adding at least 4–5 spoons of ghee. The besan should then be added once the ghee has melted, and it should be roasted for at least 15 minutes at a low heat. Besan should have a pleasant aroma and become golden brown. Add some milk to the pan after that. Stir the mixture constantly until it begins to thicken and pull away from the pan’s edges. It should take between 8 and 10 minutes. The pan should now include nutmeg, cardamom, and powdered sugar.

To further thicken the sauce, thoroughly stir it, then cook it for an additional two to three minutes. After that, just turn off the heat and let the mixture to cool. Use your hands to fully knead the ingredients until it resembles smooth dough once it has cooled. To construct peda shapes, divide the mixture into equal-sized balls and give each one a little flattening of the edge. The besan peda must now only be topped with thinly sliced almonds and pistachios before being allowed to totally cool. After that, it is prepared for consumption.
