IDF will assist in removing infants from Al-Shifa Hospital

According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), it will assist with the evacuation of infants who are stranded in the Al-Shifa hospital in the Gaza Strip.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that it lost communication with Al-Shifa Hospital and that Israeli attacks were causing hardship for elderly and pediatric patients there.

The WHO said that if conflict had become worse on the grounds, its contacts at Al-Shifa Hospital would have fled to South Gaza.

The Gaza Health Ministry, which is controlled by Hamas, had previously claimed that the Israeli army was bombarding the hospital and that there was no power there, which was causing patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) to die.

In the meanwhile, the IDF has consistently insisted that the Al-Shifa hospital is connected to subterranean tunnel networks and serves as a key Hamas command center.

The IDF has also accused Hamas of permitting civilian movement from northern to southern Gaza and of employing both youngsters and the elderly as human shields to flee the assaults. People have been able to escape from the northern to the southern parts of Gaza for four hours every day, thanks to the Israeli force.
