Military: 12 Pakistani fisherman are killed by a capsized boat

As the navy sought for two fishermen who were still missing, the military reported on Wednesday that twelve Pakistani fisherman perished when their boat overturned in the Arabian Sea.

After the fishing boat capsized on March 5, rescuers used helicopters, ships, and speedboats to search the seas off the southern province of Sindh.

The army’s public relations branch released a statement on Wednesday stating, “The bodies of 12 fishermen have been recovered.”

“The search for the remaining two missing fishermen is still going on.”

In Pakistan, fatal transportation mishaps are frequent due to extreme congestion and inadequate safety protocols.

According to the military, the boat capsized in the open sea at Hajamro Creek, near the Indian border, “due to adverse weather conditions” with 45 crew members on board.

In Pakistan, working and recreational boats are often overloaded, which causes them to be top-heavy and prone to capsizing.
