Pakistani drones seen circling close to the Line of Control in Poonch, J&K; Army retaliates

According to reports, Pakistani quadcopters were shot down by army forces manning the Line of Control (LoC) on Friday at two separate locations in the Poonch area of Jammu and Kashmir.

But, they said, after briefly circling over Indian territory in the Balnoi-Mendhar and Gulpur sectors, the flying objects returned to the Pakistani side.

They said that a search operation was started in both areas to make sure the quadcopters weren’t dumping any weapons or drugs.

Around 630 am, according to officials, soldiers fired upon seeing two quadcopters fly into the Mendhar neighborhood called Balnoi. However, the remotely operated vehicles quickly took flight again.

According to them, at around the same time, two quadcopters that were hovering above the Gulpur area returned after Indian forces opened fire on them.

Army forces opened fire on an enemy drone earlier on February 12 after seeing it moving through the Mendhar sector’s Mankote district.

Drones are being used by Pakistan to dump weapons and drugs in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police recently said that anybody with information on drones being flown from across the border with the intention of dropping weapons and drugs would be eligible for a cash prize of Rs three lakh.
