Remove “Old Lenses” and “Observe India as It Is,” says the Indian deputy high commissioner to the UK

Sujit Ghosh, India’s deputy high commissioner to the UK, called on the nation to throw off its “old lenses” and “see India for what it is” on Wednesday, adding that London is “uniquely positioned” to gain from New Delhi’s ascent.

The India Global Forum (IGF), which has its headquarters in London, hosted the annual UK-India Parliamentary Luncheon, at which the Indian ambassador was speaking. According to the IGF website, the yearly gathering “brings together leading figures from politics, business, finance, and culture over an informative sit-down lunch to celebrate the growing ties between our two great democracies.”

According to an IGF post on the social networking site X, Ghosh spoke extensively on the expanding linkages between the UK and India, the thriving digital economy, and prospects in India. According to him, India is not only giving its people opportunity, but also the rest of the world.

The UK is in a unique position to gain from India’s growth. Ghosh was mentioned in the X article as saying, “The time has come for our friends in the UK to shed their old lenses and see India for what it is.”

“The living bridge between UK and India, the people-to-people links, and the ability for people to visit our respective countries, work together, do deals together, is incredibly important,” UK Home Secretary James Cleverly was cited as saying in another post on X by the IGF.

Manoj Ladwa, the creator of the IGF, emphasized the present trade, investment, and geopolitical situations while stating that cooperation is the key to democracy’s success. The IGF provides forums for corporations and governments and serves as an agenda-setting forum for global leaders and industry.
