Subas Chandra Nembang, a former speaker of Nepal, passed away after a heart attack.

Subas Chandra Nembang, a former speaker of the Nepalese parliament and vice-chairman of the CPN-UML party, passed away after a heart attack on Monday. He was 70.

Nembang, who had been ill for some time, passed away after a heart attack while being transported to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.

A CPN-UML leader said that Subas Chandra Nembang, the former speaker and vice chairman of the party, passed away on Monday at his home after a heart attack.

Several politicians arrived in the hospital to pay their respects, including Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda,” UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

According to party sources, Nembang’s remains will be housed at the UML party headquarters in Chyasal in the Lalitpur district on Wednesday, and his last rites will be conducted there on Thursday.

To honor Nembang’s passing, the government has declared Thursday a public holiday.
