The proprietor of World Central Kitchen claims that Israel attacked employees in Gaza “car by car.”

According to the BBC, José Andrés, the founder of World Central Kitchen (WCK), has accused Israeli soldiers in Gaza of “systematically, car by car” attacking his humanitarian workers.

He reiterated that Israeli soldiers had been informed of their whereabouts and insisted that the attack on Monday that claimed the lives of seven of his employees was not an error.

Along with their Palestinian colleague, WCK workers from Australia, Canada, Poland, the UK, and the US also perished.

He was cited by Reuters as adding, “This was not a bad luck situation where, ‘oops,’ we dropped the bomb in the wrong place.” “No democratic nation or military can target civilians and humanitarians, even if we weren’t coordinating with the IDF.”

The humanitarian assistance convoy was struck, according to the organization, when it was leaving the Deir al-Balah warehouse, “where the team had unloaded more than 100 tonnes of humanitarian food aid brought to Gaza on the maritime route”.

Three cars total, two of which were armored and prominently carried the charity’s emblem, comprised the convoy. According to the BBC story, all three were struck during the strike.

Israel has apologized and said that the attack was a “grave mistake”.

It has further pledged to conduct a separate inquiry.
