Twitter’s VP of Trust and Safety has announced her resignation
Ella Irwin, the director of trust and safety at Twitter, announced her resignation from the social media firm to Reuters on Thursday.
Irwin was in charge of content moderation, but since Elon Musk, a billionaire, bought the firm in October, it has come under fire for having weak safeguards against offensive material.
Irwin’s resignation also comes at a time when the platform has had trouble retaining advertisers, mostly because businesses are leery of being associated with inappropriate material.
Linda Yaccarino, a former executive in charge of advertising at NBCUniversal, was named by Musk earlier this month as Twitter’s next CEO.
