Video: Moments after shooting his son, a US man’s sobs are captured on doorbell footage

According to video acquired by Local News 10, a man from the US state of Florida was seen confessing to his wife on their doorbell camera that he had shot and killed their 22-year-old son during a furious quarrel.

In November of last year, David Contreras admitted to killing his son Eric in their Miami home. The 52-year-old Contreras was heard stating, “He’s not breathing,” in a recently made public video. Moments after the event, I heard, “He’s dead.” Visibly concerned, Contreras is seen kneeling on the ground in the video.

‘Give me a call, please.’
He begged his wife, “It’s not your fault,” in the video. Kindly give my brother a call.” “I just shot my son,” Contreras said over the phone to 911. According to the New York Post, Eric, a Florida International University student, was discovered dead from gunshot wounds.

During his November arraignment, Contreras entered a not guilty plea to second-degree murder charges. It’s still unclear exactly what happened before the horrific incident. Until his next court date on March 11, Contreras is being detained without bail. It’s still unclear exactly how the father-son fight turned into a shooting spree.

The US saw more than 400 mass shootings last year, which paved the way for a record-breaking year for gun violence. Any occurrence in which at least four persons are shot—not including the shooter—is classified as a mass shooting. In the US, several smaller shooting incidents take place every day.
