Investigate. Find out. Reiterate: Hikers in the NCR relax on natural paths

Is spending time in nature and getting away from the bustle of the city what you consider to be a nice weekend? If so, you may sign up for one of the many hiking groups that explore the lakes and natural paths that are tucked away on Delhi’s outskirts. Hiking groups get together on weekends to enjoy these short excursions, which take them on routes through the Aravallis and around lakes in Faridabad.

wonderful method to connect with other naturalists
Let’s Walk Gurgaon’s Vibhor Bhardwaj surveys routes across the city and plans treks that require little hiking.

Although vloggers often visit certain paths, many lakes and areas remain undiscovered. Every Saturday, we go on a hike with between 25 and 30 individuals; however, on some excursions, that number has topped 90. To appreciate nature with other like-minded people is the goal. We wake early, at five in the morning, to see the dawn from the summit of the hill.
These kinds of pursuits enable individuals to spend quality time alone while socialising with others.

Gurgaon Walkers founder Manmohan guides a group of 40–50 individuals of all ages, skill levels, and walking speeds as they discover hidden jewels across Gurgaon. “The purpose is to have personal time with yourself while hiking with other hikers.” In Gurgaon, there are more than sixty safe pathways. Since many of these paths don’t have internet access, they’re also good for social media detoxification and human connection, the man adds. “Those who were new to walking did not know about these hidden gems. According to Prabhat Verma, the Moonwalkers’ creator, “participants find that these early morning walks are therapeutic as well as energy boosters.”

Get away from the city and discover the outdoors
During these walks, regulars build relationships with others and find solace in the natural world. Regular hiker Priti Zararia, who relocated to Gurgaon from Delhi because she loves mountaineering, says, “Even for a day, hiking is a great way to escape city life.” The easiest method for me to keep in shape is to hike the rustic paths in our backyard, which is a blessing since the Aravallis is right there. “Experiencing nature in its raw form with fellow hikers is the best way to end the week, or, you could say, start the week,” the hiker said. “We traverse through arid land, thick forest, boulder patches, and dunes to find pristine lakes tucked away deep inside the Aravallis.” Our hikes last between 10 and 12 kilometres.

One frequent hiker from Noida, Puneet Goel, adds, “I’ve been going on weekend hikes in Aravallis for the last couple of years.” I could never have imagined the beauty of Aravallis. The hills, lakes, and flora provide a much-needed break from the concrete jungle. I have recently begun to bring my kid along. These routes provide us time for introspective, unhurried talks. These treks have not only improved our relationship but also taught her the importance of fitness and how to appreciate nature while taking a gadget break.”
