MBBS student Armish Asija, a trailblazer who becomes the first flying officer in the Punjab district, is introduced

Being the district’s first flying officer, Armish Asija made history. The 23-year-old is one of the youngest officers in the Indian Air Force (IAF) to accomplish this achievement because of her extraordinary devotion and unflinching commitment. “My entire family was excited to see my passing out parade, as I am the first person in my family to join the defense services,” the pioneer said, expressing her feelings and her victorious moment. My mother and my father’s grandma were there at the event. I’ve known that my family had a great deal of respect for the military forces since I was a little kid, and that’s what first helped me understand that this career was unlike any other.

Originating from the Punjabi border village of Fazilka, Armish’s family is very proud of her accomplishment. She is setting a precedent for future generations by becoming the first member of her family to enlist in the armed forces. She studied for her MBBS at the Armed Forces Medical College in Pune, where she was a standout student. Out of 150 students in her cohort, she came in fifth place, securing a highly sought-after position as a flying officer in the Indian Air Force. Only thirty of the 150 available seats are designated for women.

Fazilka’s Armish Asija, together with her family, becomes the first flying officer in the IAF.

For Armish’s family, the passing-out procession was a touching occasion. Her maternal and paternal grandparents were present at the Pune ceremony. Her mother, Dr. Sonika Asija, is the chair of the chemistry department at the Guru Jambeshwar University of Science and Technology in Hisar, while her father, Mahdeep Asija, works as an environmental engineer.

Amrish engaged in a variety of sports and extracurricular activities in addition to her medical education. Her time spent in a military setting helped her stay emotionally and physically healthy, as seen by her success in basketball and roller skating. She displays her status as a resident of Fazilka with pride. She thinks that no matter where you are—in Delhi or Fazilka—you can attain your goals. Her family’s steadfast encouragement inspired her to follow her aspirations.

The path of Dr. Armish Asija serves as an example of bravery, tenacity, and inspiration for aspirational young women around the nation. “We are currently experiencing a very positive transitional phase for women in our society,” she said. In order to establish and protect our place as women, we must give it all we have.
