The decline of Gen Z in the digital sphere and the ensuing infatuation with stars

Twenty-three-year-old Riya Kapoor never skips checking her horoscope before starting her day. Kapoor is not the only one who is influenced by astrology. A larger segment of Generation Z is becoming more devout of the stars. The rise in popularity of astrology among Generation Z and Zoomers may be attributed in part to the digital astrological revolution and the social media frenzy that has turned it into a significant cultural phenomena.

Numerous astrological websites, apps, and social media profiles have surfaced, providing daily cosmic insights, compatibility assessments, and customized horoscopes. Because of their comfort with technology, Gen Z is embracing these platforms and integrating them into their everyday lives.

Astroyogi, a website for astrological consulting, offers a thorough analysis of the Gen Z market. According to the “Zodiac Generation,” talking over phone consultations is preferred by 39.8% of respondents, or almost twice as much. Gen Z users make up 60.2% of all online astrology users in cities with strong social media use, while non-Gen Z users make up 39.8%. Remarkably, over eighty percent of all Gen Z inquiries center on relationships—either the present ones or the possibility of rekindling previous ones.

The popularity of applications like Astroyogi and Astrotalk provides further hard data supporting the astrological boom. In addition to horoscopes, Gen Z is quite interested in other services that are offered, such as tarot readings and wellness consultations with reiki and pranic treatment.

“Gen Zers make up the majority of my clientele, and Tarot is still relatively new to them. According to intuitive Tarot reader Shweta Verhani, “some of them take readings to confirm their accuracy, while others are regular seekers of guidance from the Universe, turning to readings every time they feel lost.”

Astrology is no longer only used to forecast the future; it is now a tool for overall wellbeing. Astrology is becoming more and more popular among Generation Z, not just for advise on relationships and careers but also for insights into mental health, mindfulness, and spiritual development. In a nation full with astrological customs, Generation Z is assiduously fusing traditional knowledge with contemporary viewpoints.
