2024 Lok Sabha elections: Raj Thackeray and Amit Shah meet in Delhi over Maharashtra’s seat-sharing arrangement

Raj Thackeray, the leader of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the nation’s capital to discuss seat distribution in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The meeting lasted for about thirty minutes. Sources claim that MNS has asked the BJP for two seats: one in South Mumbai and one outside of Mumbai. In the next Lok Sabha elections, MNS can win the seat from South Mumbai. Thackeray has made two trips to Delhi in the last four days.

When the Shiv Sena was united and governed by his cousin, Raj Thackeray broke away from it. However, despite having a certain following and being regarded as a strong orator, his MNS was unable to have much of an influence.

“The alliance would get a fiery leader to take against Uddhav Thackeray, who is also a member of the Thackeray family, if Raj Thackeray joins the NDA. Hard-core Marathi voters make up both politicians’ support base, according to sources.

The BJP had anticipated more support for Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, but it is not happening. The NDA may gain from Raj Thackeray’s party’s influence in places like Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, and the Konkan,” they said.
