A heart attack kills a Haryana guy portraying Lord Hanuman at a Ramlila performance

On Monday, January 22, a guy portraying Lord Hanuman in a Ramlila performance in Bhiwani, Haryana, passed away on stage. According to reports, the guy, named as Harish Mehta, had a heart attack while performing. The event was planned to commemorate the great opening of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.

Mehta unexpectedly collapsed to the ground while dancing in a costumed depiction of Lord Hanuman at a community gathering near Jawahar Chowk in Bhiwani, as seen on camera. But because everyone took it for a part of the performance, nobody came to his aid. People realized that Mehta wasn’t responding after a minute.

Soon after, he was transferred to a hospital, where the medical staff pronounced him “brought dead.”

For the last twenty-five years, Harish Mehta, who portrays Lord Hanuman, has been playing the character of Hanuman. He resigned from the position of Junior Engineer in the power department.

In a related occurrence, on Monday at the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ event at the recently built Ram temple, a devotee who had a heart attack was rescued by the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) mobile hospital fast response team.

Using the crucial golden hour, a group of BHISHM Cube headed by Wing Commander Manish Gupta rescued 65-year-old Ramkrishna Srivastava from the temple compound within minutes after his collapse and administered on-site care, according to a report from news agency PTI.

He received first care at the scene from the fast response team. The patient was sent to the civil hospital for further monitoring and specialized treatment when his condition had stabilized.
