According to Uddhav Thackeray, the state’s law and order scenario calls for dismissing the Maharashtra administration and imposing President’s control

MUMBAI: Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), attacked the Maharashtra administration headed by Eknath Shinde on Saturday and urged its resignation due to the state’s law and order issues.

Speaking during a news conference here, he also insisted on imposing the President’s control across the state and conducting new elections. “We demand the dismissal of the Maharashtra government,” Thackeray said, referencing the state’s law and order issues after the Thursday night shooting death of a party leader in Dahisar.
In addition, the former chief minister said that the state administration shielded organized crime. Son of Sena (UBT) leader Vinod Ghosalkar, former corporator Abhishek Ghosalkar (40) was shot and killed on Thursday night during a Facebook Live by local businessman and social activist Mauris Noronha. Police said that Noronha subsequently committed suicide.
A local Shiv Sena politician headed by Eknath Shinde was shot and injured by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Ganpat Gaikwad on February 2 at a police station in Ulhasnagar, close to Mumbai, over a property dispute and political rivalry.
In a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi requested immediate action from Shah due to the “deteriorating” state of law and order in Maharashtra.
