Ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections, RLD’s Jayant Chaudhary confirms his alliance with the BJP

The Rashtriya Lok Dal, led by Jayant Chaudhary, has formally announced an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The seat-sharing agreement states that the RLD would run for Baghpat and Bijnor, two Lok Sabha seats.

A Rajya Sabha seat has also been offered to the party, an India Today article claims.

Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, this is yet another setback for the Indian coalition.

Jayant Chaudhary said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is aware of the nation’s pulse at a news conference on Friday.

The party is well-known in western Uttar Pradesh, where the powerful Jat group resides. It is anticipated that the BJP will grow in this area.
