BJP requests the resignation of the CM in a counter-protest

On Wednesday, BJP MLAs organised a dharna on the Assembly grounds under the direction of Opposition Leader Ramvir Singh Bidhuri in reaction to the protest by AAP leaders.

At midday, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva simultaneously organised a protest outside the Assembly entrance, after which the police arrested the party’s leader and party members.

BJP MLAs held signs reading “Corrupt Kejriwal Should Resign,” calling on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to step down.

The Assembly session adjourned amid protests by AAP MLAs. Following that, BJP legislators congregated close to the monument to Mahatma Gandhi, initiated a sit-in, and called for Kejriwal’s resignation.

Speaking to BJP MLAs, Bidhuri emphasised the need for accountability for many suspected frauds while highlighting the current investigations against Arvind Kejriwal. “Resignation remains the only viable recourse in such circumstances,” said Bidhuri.

Bidhuri said it was unacceptable that Kejriwal was unwilling to follow the rules he had previously set for politicians involved in corruption issues. He asked for the immediate resignation of the Chief Minister of Delhi and said that the BJP will keep pushing for Kejriwal’s departure.

Party activists from Mayur Vihar District staged a rally headed by Virendra Sachdeva outside the Assembly buildings. Members of the Yuva Morcha and Mahila Morcha were also present during the march.

The protesters, dressed in black, held signs calling for Kejriwal’s resignation. Sachdeva also climbed the entry gate of the Assembly.

The BJP protestors were warned not to approach the premises and were taken to Timarpur by the Delhi Police, from where they were eventually released.

Delhi Chief BJP lodges grievance with Commissioner of Police

Virendra Sachdeva, the head of the Delhi BJP, filed a complaint with the Delhi Police Commissioner on Wednesday about letters that Arvind Kejriwal allegedly sent while in the ED’s custody.

According to Sachdeva, Kejriwal was not authorised to send out official correspondence while he was being held. He expressed doubts about the veracity of the letters that Saurabh Bhardwaj and Atishi, two ministers in the Delhi government, distributed purportedly on Arvind Kejriwal’s behalf.

In his grievance, he implored the Delhi Police to launch an investigation to ascertain the veracity of the purportedly deceptive correspondence.
