Boxer and former Congressman Vijender Singh joins BJP before 2024 Lok Sabha Elections

In advance of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, boxer Vijender Singh joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday. Prior to the Lok Sabha election, boxer Vijender Singh, previously known as X, posted a single sentence on Twitter that set off a lot of rumours.

He said, “Wherever the public wants, I am ready.” His name has been circulating for the last several days as the party’s candidate from Mathura, the seat now held by actress and sitting Member of Parliament Hema Malini. Singh is a member of the Jat community, which is politically powerful in several seats in Rajasthan, western Uttar Pradesh, and his home state of Haryana.
