By June 15th, the Delhi Police SIT will submit a status report on the wrestler protest case that includes 208 statements

Before June 15, the Delhi Police’s Special Investigation Team will submit a status report about the FIR first filed in the wrestling protest case. 208 individuals have submitted recorded statements to the SIT.

According to Vinesh Phogat’s complaint, the police were unable to get the CCTV video from Brij Bhushan’s office between 2016 and 2017. This will be stated in the status report.

During the course of the inquiry, the police had made two trips to Brij Bhushan’s Delhi home. The WhatsApp conversations and recordings that were on the accused’s and the victims’ phones were successfully recovered by the police.

The application made by the protesting women wrestlers against BJP MP and Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) head Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh had already been updated by the Delhi Police.

Atul Shrivastava, a special public prosecutor for the Delhi Police, informed Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Harjit Singh Jaspal of Rouse Avenue Court that the testimonies of the female wrestlers who were the “victims” had been recorded under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) in front of a magistrate.

The complainants were also instructed to provide a copy of the application to the police, and ACMM Jaspal ordered the police to provide both the status reports submitted on May 12 and May 27 to the complainants.

The case was then scheduled for hearing on June 27 by the court.

A Delhi court had on Thursday requested an action taken report (ATR) from the police in response to allegations of sexual harassment made against Singh by the protesting wrestlers. The complaint was made by a social activist and the leader of the Atal Jan Shakti Party, who asked for the registration of a FIR against wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia, and Sakshi Malik for making “false allegations” of sexual harassment against Singh.

The instructions were given in response to an application submitted on behalf of Bam Bam Maharaj Nauhatiya by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Anamika of Patiala House Courts.
