Candidates for the Lok Sabha Elections are released by Shiv Sena (UBT), fields Anil Desai, a Mumbai South native

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Sanjay Raut, the head of the Shiv Sena (UBT), released the list of all 17 candidates on Wednesday, with just a few months to go till the polls. Anil Desai, a candidate for the party from the Mumbai South Central parliamentary seat

Party chief Sanjay Raut had earlier said that the list was prepared and that he will later share it with the media.

“The first Shiv Sena list is prepared, and it will be released today. Here with us is Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA). They are significant Maha Vikas Aghadi members. Speaking to media representatives, Sanjay Raut said that the four-seat plan is still in place.

He added that the opposition party, headed by Uddhav Thackeray, will have 16 names on the list.

One day earlier, on Monday, NCP (SCP) president Sharad Pawar paid a visit to Sena (UBT) chairman Uddhav Thackeray’s home to attend a Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance gathering.

ANI was informed by sources that at the meeting at “Matoshree,” there was a discussion about seat sharing.

In contrast, Raju Parwe, a senior Congressman from Maharashtra and an Umred MLA, joined Shiv Sena on Sunday in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, amidst the chaos surrounding the Lok Sabha elections.

Rashtriya Samaj Paksha (RSP) leader Mahadev Jankar joined the Mahayuti coalition on March 24, bringing Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis along with him. This move gave the Mahayuti alliance even more momentum.

In the general elections, Maharashtra will vote in five rounds for 48 seats. With 80 seats in the Lower House of Parliament, Maharashtra comes in second behind Uttar Pradesh.

The BJP won 23 of the 25 seats that were up for grabs in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, while the Shiv Sena, in its entirety, took home 18 of the 23 seats.
