Car crashes into a ditch; schoolchildren are saved

When the schoolchildren’s van had an accident near Poonch, an Army unit responded to save the youngsters. When the Army discovered that a Tata Sumo transporting schoolchildren had tumbled down the mountainside close to Balnoi, they were conducting a reconnaissance of their operations area.

Because of the slick conditions on the narrow route, the car flipped over and plunged into a ditch when it was traveling from Tain hamlet to a nearby school in Balnoi. According to an official Army spokeswoman, “Army personnel immediately sprung into action and rescued the children, injured passengers, and driver from the accident site to safety.”

Both the wounded youngsters and other passengers received first assistance. To guarantee the wounded were transported to the hospital in a timely manner, an ambulance from Primary Health Center, Mendhar, was arranged for concurrently by an Army doctor. The spokesman said, “No fatal casualties occurred as a result of the prompt rescue of the children from accidental vehicle.”
