Chhattisgarh: Car crashes into parked car in Bemetara, leaving 9 dead and 23 injured

Bemetara: Authorities in Chhattisgarh’s Bemetara district reported that an accident between a truck and a cargo vehicle late on Sunday night resulted in the deaths of five women and three children, as well as the injuries of twenty-three others. The victims were returning from a family get-together when the disaster happened close to Kathia village. Prior to the catastrophe, the group—who were from Patharra village—had been at an event in Tiraiyya village.

The horrific incident happened when the goods vehicle struck a parked small truck at the side of the road, according to the police. The names of the dead have been confirmed as follows: Madhu Sahu (5), Twinkle Nishad (6), Bhuri Nishad (50), Neera Sahu (55), Geeta Sahu (60), Agniya Sahu (60), Khushbu Sahu (39).

The wounded were given medical attention right away, and they were sent to adjacent hospitals to get treatment. Four seriously injured people were later sent to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Raipur to get further medical care.

Nine lives were lost in the disaster, according to Bemetara Collector Ranveer Sharma, who also emphasized the continued efforts to assist those afflicted with essential support and medical attention.

BJP MLA Dipesh Sahu said, “It’s a heartbreaking road accident that has taken place in the district,” in an attempt to show his sorrow for the lives lost. An automobile struck a parked car head-on. In this event, nine people have passed away. For medical attention, each wounded person is admitted to the hospital. The Raipur AIIMS has accepted those who are in critical condition. We are in solidarity with the bereaved family. The government is making every effort to assist.”
