“Cong and RJD joined forces to oppose Modi.”

PM Narendra Modi, conveniently forgetting that their leadership would not too long ago ‘demand prison sentences for each other in corruption cases’, called out the Congress and RJD on Thursday for ‘coming together in the name of defeating Modi’.

At a campaign event at Jamui, 165 km from Patna, Modi said, “Congress and RJD gave our country such a bad name—Congress with its failure to curb terrorist activity and RJD with its mishandling of the Maoist problem.”

“The world formerly believed that we were a helpless and impoverished country. Terrorists used to attack whenever they pleased, coming from little nations that are now having difficulty keeping up their wheat supply. India’s gaurav, or pride, was compromised by successive Congress governments’ only real action being to ask other countries to become involved.”
The ‘development triumphs’ of three NDA governments in Bihar, headed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar from November 2005 to June 2013, July 2017 to August 2022, and January of this year to the present, were also mentioned in Modi’s thirty-minute address.
He cited the NDA’s prioritisation of Bihar as seen by the building of roads, bridges, and an airport at Deoghar in addition to the growth of Gaya airport. He said that there are over Rs 1 lakh crore worth of road developments coming up.
The Prime Minister compared the achievements of the NDA government in the last ten years to those of the Mauryan dynasty, which established the nation’s first robust monarchy. “The modern state of India is comparable to the ancient kingdoms of Patliputra, Magadha, and Maurya. This India responds to the aggressor.”
