Congressman “opens” fire at pigeon-flying competition, injuring youth

It has emerged that a young person was hurt on Thursday in the Katra Karam Singh area when a Congress leader reportedly opened fire over a pigeon-flying competition.

Even though the event was verified by the police, they have not yet filed a formal complaint since the victim has not yet contacted them.

They reportedly even fled the private hospital where the victim was receiving treatment when hospital administration said they would be contacting the police, according to information obtained.

In order to identify the two parties that fought and resulted in the fire, the police are going over the CCTV tape.

It is important to note that in light of the Lok Sabha elections, the district administration and police have requested those who own valid guns to leave them with the police.

These instances, however, give rise to worries over the vast number of gun license holders who have not yet deposited their firearms. Additionally, the government has extended until April 5 the deadline for arm deposits.

Division C police station SHO Sukhinder Singh claimed that eyewitnesses reported to the police that a Congress politician had reportedly opened fire after a fight broke out between two groups during a pigeon-flying competition.

The Congress leader used his licensed firearm to put an end to the heated verbal altercation between the two groups. A young person was shot in the neck and sent to the hospital.
